Jim Jones is willing to put Beef Aside to Reunite Dipset

9 Feb

Just a short three years ago, the Dipset clan was tight. They were still celebrating their part in the demise of Roc-A-Fella Records. At the time, they were looking poised to take over the game. As their plans of taking over became prevalent, there was one thing missing, their leader. Before the end of 2007, it was revealed that Cam’ron was feuding with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. Since that time, each member has said horrible things about each other.

When Jim Jones and Juelz Santana sided with 50 Cent in his feud with Cam’ron, Cam decided that it would be best for him to take some time off. For the remainder of 2007 and well into 2008, Cam’ron was out of the public eye. Because he had become such a dominant figure in the hip hop world, a full search was made for Cam’ron. At the time, BET was still broadcasting their hip hop series, “Rap City,” and they hosted their show in Harlem for a week in search of the leader of Dipset.

Late in 2008, Cam’ron re-emerged in the game. Upon his return, there were a lot of questions about him and his crew. The questions about his crew led to questions about his old feuds with heavy-hitters 50 Cent and Jay-Z from years prior. In 2009, he began promoting his fifth studio album, Crime Pays. While he was doing the promo tour for this album, Cam said that he was all about making money. He said that if the money was right, he would be willing to work with his most-known rivals and willing to reunite with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana.

More and more questions arose until Cam’ron revealed that he had not spoken with Jones since he began feuding with 50 Cent back in February 2007. Days after he released that statement, he revealed that he spoke with Jim Jones and they had a long, friendly, conversation. This would later be denied by Jones, but Cam’ron pressured him into admitting that it was the truth. For Cam, that was the last straw. From that point on, he began dissing his former crew in interviews.

Late last year, Juelz Santana reached out to Cam’ron only to be shut down by his former friend. There were may people trying to instigate a response from Juelz, but he refused to do so. Despite his current feelings about Cam, it was Cam that gave him his start in the game. Jim Jones, on the other hand, took direct aim at Cam’ron. His statements about the former Dipset boss went without a response from Cam’ron.

After all of the bickering, Kareem Burke, a friend of the crew, said that he could possibly get the crew to reunite. Now, only a month after his statements, Jim Jones said that he is also confident that they will reunite. Still, all of this is depending on Cam’ron, who is tremendously disgusted with the way that Jones has treated him.
