Soulja Boy will not leave Twitter

23 Dec

Late last year, Twitter became the place to be. After two years of obscurity, the social networking blog site rose to become the place to be. Celebrities from all genres were personally keeping their fans updated on what they were doing. In only a matter of months, Twitter put an end to the press release.

As 2009 rolled around, many hip hop artists began updating their fans through Twitter. Starting with Fabolous, it was revealed that Twitter can be trouble. On the course of rebuilding his career, Chris Brown used the site to keep his remaining fans updated. When his album did not sell the way that Brown expected it to, he posted a Twitter rant.

That rant led to Chris Brown ending his Twitter immediately. Like Chris Brown, Soulja Boy has become a popular artist that uses Twitter. Over the course of his career, it has been revealed that Soulja Boy is a nice person until he feels that he is being tested. When Soulja Boy develops these feelings, he begins ranting.

Earlier this year, he began feuding with Bow Wow and he posted many video rants that disrespected Bow Wow. He posted similar video rants last summer during his feud with Ice T. Now that Twitter has risen to become more popular than the video sites, Soulja Boy saves his video rants and types his feelings. Since moving to Twitter, Soulja Boy has posted a few rants.

While Twitter can be a great tool to update fans, when celebrities begin ranting and creating trouble, it can also ruin a career. Fabolous’ Twitter activities have made some of his fans look at him differently. He still has his account, but he is not creating as much conflict as he was only months ago.

Despite the fact that his rants may make people look at him in a different light, Soulja Boy has no plans of ending his Twitter account. When other artists feel that they have messed up, they end their accounts. However, posting rants is a great way to build an audience. Perhaps Soulja Boy has realized this. He said that he has worked to hard for his followers for him to simply end his account due to a rant or two.
