Young Jeezy sets a release date for “Thug Motivation 103”

22 Dec

Earlier this year, it was announced that Young Jeezy was going to release a new album. This album was slated to be released before the end of 2009. Titled, Thug Motivation 103, it is the follow-up to Jeezy’s 2008 album, The Recession. Young Jeezy has spent most of this year working on the album and it simply was not ready as the year is ending.

Many albums were supposed to be released this month, but they never came. Aside from the album from Young Jeezy, Plies and Game were supposed to release their albums this month. Because of his reunion with Dr. Dre, Game gladly pushed his album back until next year and set a date in February. Plies will also release his album in February.

Young Jeezy’s fourth major label, Thug Motivation 103, was pushed back until 2010 because he could not find a single that possessed the ability to rebuild his buzz. Currently, he is working on finding that single. He is spending the next few months working on the finishing touches for this album. Like the releases from Plies and Game, Jeezy was originally slated for a December release.

However, since he could not find a hit single, Young Jeezy was forced to push the album back. As soon as it was revealed that the album would not come until next year, he ended his long-running feud with Gucci Mane. Now the two rappers are preparing for a set of collaborations, one will appear on Thug Motivation 103 and the other will appear on Gucci’s next album.

On February 16, 2010, Young Jeezy will release Thug Motivation 103 on Corporate Thugz Ent. and Def Jam.
