Memphis Bleek set to face-off with Game with Album Release

13 Dec

For over a decade, Memphis Bleek has been waiting for his time to shine. He was set up to become the star after Jay-Z, but he saw his thunder stolen from every other rapper he collaborated with. When Jay-Z retired to give Bleek the title, he still did not have it.

In 2006, Jay-Z unretired, while Memphis Bleek never stopped. In the three years since the unretirement of Jay-Z, Bleek has released no albums, while Jay has released three albums. The reason that this has happened is because Bleek sought his independence.

Finally out from under Jay-Z’s wing, Memphis Bleek is going to release The Process next year. He has been working on this album ever since 2006 and he has always described it as a classic. For the album, he has worked with some of the artists on his label, along with Pharrell and Rick Ross.

Ever since 2002, Memphis Bleek has been embroiled in a feud with West Coast rapper, Game. Their feud stems from their label names. At the time, Game recorded for a label called Get Low Recordz. Bleek has been running his own label, Get Low Records, since 1998. Many diss records have been exchanged because of the Get Low name.

After four years of being away from Dr. Dre and the Aftermath camp, Game was reunited by Snoop Dogg. He has been happy ever since. Game had just completed his fourth album, The R.E.D. Album, and he was supposed to release it on December 8. Also happy to have Game back, Dr. Dre pushed the album back so that he could work on it.

For The R.E.D. Album, Game is working with some of his own artists in addition to Rick Ross and Pharrell. Despite the fact that they are working with the same artists, the feud between Game and Memphis Bleek is far from over. When Beanie Sigel took aim at Jay-Z and Bleek, Game sided with Beans.

Regardless of production work and collaborators, Game is a top-selling rap artist. It is expected out of Game to release at least one hit single from an album. Memphis Bleek, on the other hand, has only made two notable singles and his albums rarely sell many copies. He is promising change with this album.

Both rappers say that their albums are the best out of each’s respective collection. Both Memphis Bleek’s The Process and Game’s The R.E.D. Album will be released on February 16, 2010. Bleek’s album is coming on Get Low/Mass Appeal and Game’s is coming on Black Wall Street/Star Trak/Interscope.
