Fabolous talks New Music and “Loso’s Way 2”

Coming off of the release of his fifth album, Loso’s Way, Fabolous is preparing to take over the hip hop game. Before he released his last album, Fab heated up the streets with the release of his mixtape, There Is No Competition.

Some have tried to hail Fabolous as the next big thing in New York, but his critics cite his inconsistency as a reason that he will never reach the level of a Jay-Z or Nas. In order to brush these critics off, Fabolous is getting back on his grind faster than ever. He has plans of releasing a new mixtape before the end of this year.

On Christmas Day, Fabolous will be releasing There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service. Just like with his previous mixtape under this title, Fab is claiming the game as his. This time, though, he is going to kill the competition. People who know Fabolous’ music know that he comes as a different beast on the mixtape scene.

Recently, Fabolous described the recording process for this new mixtape. He said that the material that will be featured on this disc is stuff that he has been working on since he finished recording Loso’s Way. Fab said that with an album, it is usually recorded a month or two before the release, while a mixtape is everything from the start right to the finish.

The sub-title for this mixtape is The Funeral Service. Fabolous described this as other rappers not only being no competiton for him, but this is also his way of saying that he possesses the ability to end the careers of other rappers, if needed. On top of the new mixtape releases, Fabolous plans to release his sixth studio album, Loso’s Way 2, sometime in 2010 on Desert Storm and Def Jam.
