Lil Wayne will redefine hip hop with “Rebirth”

29 Nov

With Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne proved that he could become the top hip hop artist for an entire year. His album was the most popular hip hop album of the year and Wayne rose from being just another rapper to the most popular rapper in the game. The urban award shows were filled with wins for Lil Wayne, and then he swept the Grammys.

Last year, Lil Wayne proved that he could dominate the hip hop scene. This year, he hopes to redefine it. After the success of his last album, Wayne said that he has done everything he can for rap music and he wants to go outside of that with his next release. It just so happened that Rebirth was the next album that Lil Wayne was scheduled to release.

Initially, it was marketed as a rock album, but Birdman said that elements of rock will be used, but the album will still be a hip hop album, overall. In hip hop, artists are supposed to push the creative envelope. With an album featuring rap, rock, and all of the elements planned for Rebirth, Wayne will be doing just that.

The only thing that stands in between Lil Wayne and him officially becoming a legend is the critical reception of the album. If the album sells well, Wayne sold a lot of records. But, if the album receives positive reviews and sells well, he has changed the course of the rap game. Some have said that Rebirth is a great album that shows his growth as an artist.

Only time will tell if this album is as great as Lil Wayne claims that it is. With the album, he delivered a disclaimer. He said that the album will not be liked by everyone, but it will be great. If other rappers begin making albums like it, that will tell if he truly changed the game with this album.
