Timbaland talks “Shock Value 2”

27 Nov

In 2007, Timbaland released Shock Value. The purpose of the album was for the producer to show off his new artists and his production abilities. Despite his efforts and some popular singles, the album was panned by critics. With Shock Value 2, Timbaland wants better reception than he received from his previous album.

For this new album, Timbaland is promoting the first single, “Morning After Dark.” He described that song as having an entirely different vibe from the rest of the album. The song features his new act, SoShy. Tim said that her style perfectly fits the song because it is dark, but not in a gangster sort of way.

The new album did stir some controversy after Chris Brown was booted from the album. Despite what it looked like, Timbaland said that it had nothing to do with the bad image of Brown. Collaborations will come from Estelle, Danja, Keri Hilson, Jonas Bros., Daughtry, Hollywood Undead, Jim Beanz, Amar, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Usher, Missy Elliott, Drake, Pharrell, and Sebastian.

Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 will be released on December 8, 2009 through Interscope Records.
