RakimWith Rakim finally releasing his third album, some are hoping to finally hear some of what he put down during his time with Dr. Dre on Aftermath Entertainment. But, Rakim is interested in releasing new music and his music recorded on Aftermath was recorded over five years ago.

The songs are still good songs, but Rakim wants to keep things fresh. So, the songs that he recorded during his time at Aftermath Entertainment will stay buried in the vault. Rakim cites creative differences and the fact that it took Dre too long to get his music complete as his reasons for leaving the label.

For this album, Rakim has worked with Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch, and many more. He hopes to release The Seventh Seal on November 17, 2009 on his own Ra Records.
