Lil Wayne IIAfter years of obscurity, Lil Wayne emerged as one of the top rappers in the game. Some have even gone as far as to compare his legacy to that of Jay-Z. While Lil Wayne makes great music, he is just not there yet.

With no music yet released in 2009, this year has been the busiest of his career. Lil Wayne has been juggling three albums and has been involved in many release date changes. Initially, he hoped to release Rebirth early in 2009 and Tha Carter IV late in 2009. Somewhere along the way, he decided to also release an album for his Young Money label.

The success of the singles from the Young Money album and the push-backs of Rebirth led some to believe that the album would be released as a solo Lil Wayne album in 2009 with Rebirth coming in 2010 with Tha Carter IV. When speaking of the Rebirth album, he said that the album was complete and he was finishing up Carter IV.

Just this week, there was an announcement that Lil Wayne would be releasing both Rebirth and Tha Carter IV on the same day. Then, news broke that the Young Money album may be packaged into Rebirth. That means that Lil Wayne might release three albums on the same day.

However, there is still a chance that he decides to release these albums over a span of years. If that happens, Wayne will be well into his thirties when his last album drops. Lil Wayne has been rapping ever since he was fourteen, so at thirty-five, he will be a twenty-one year veteran in rap. Recently, he mentioned that he may retire when he turns thirty-five.
