Ja Rule had planned to return to the rap game in 2007 with his album, The Mirror. He had hoped to create the top album of the year. Many had written Ja Rule off because it was his first album in three years. Quickly, Ja proved that he still had it.

For the album, the initial guest list included Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Nas, The Game, R. Kelly, Fat Joe, Ashanti, Nelly Furtado, Lloyd, and Ashley Joi. Production was set to come from Diddy, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Irv Gotti, Just Blaze, and Kanye West. What was in the works was a monster album.

During all of the hype for the album, Ja Rule and Irv Gotti often spoke of a song entitled “Father Forgive Me.” In promotion of the album, Irv Gotti played the song on a local New York radio show and Jay-Z called in to hear the song one more time. He ended up calling the song the best song he had ever heard.

Had things gone according to plans, The Mirror would have come on November 13, 2007 and “Father Forgive Me” would have been the third single, following “Uhh Ohhh!!!!” featuring Lil Wayne and “Body” with Ashley Joi. For unknown reasons, Universal Records pulled the plug on the album and it was officially released earlier this year.

Now, things feel a bit more right as Ja Rule has decided to wait for 2010 to release his next album, Venni Vetti Vecci 2010. The first single from this planned album will be “Father Forgive Me,” the same song that forced his album to be pushed back three years earlier. Now, with the blessing of The Beatles, and a new label behind him, Ja is ready.

Footage of Ja Rule on the set of a video for the song was released on October 14, 2009 by Rule, himself on his YouTube channel. This new album will be released in 2010, but this will be the first single. This time around, Ja Rule has officially put things back in order as he is working with Ashanti again and he is again friends with DMX.

No set release date has come for Venni Vetti Vecci 2010. However, footage of “Father Forgive Me” can be watched below:
