B.G. has big Plans for New Album

4 Oct

B.G.B.G. was once one of the most popular rhymers on the Southern hip hop scene. He first rose to fame on Cash Money Records as a member of the Hot Boyz. Alongside Juvenile and Lil Wayne, the group became one of the most popular in hip hop. The ride would not last for long when B.G. left the label over a royalty dispute.

In 2002, he left Cash Money to form his own label, Chopper City Records. His first album on his new label was nothing more than a Cash Money-bashing. B.G. maintained the voice of the streets as an independent artist, but he no longer had that mainstream following. As a result, some say that he has fallen off.

While B.G. has been falling off, Juvenile has maintained his position in hip hop and Lil Wayne has risen to icon-like status. Late last year, Wayne announced that the Hot Boyz would reunite and B.G. announced his new album, Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood. At the time, it was believed that the album would be handled by T.I. and Grand Hustle.

It has become quite clear that B.G.’s album will not be handled by Grand Hustle. Now, it has been announced that B.G. will again be independent. A collaboration album with Lil Wayne and Juvenile also looks unlikely, but B.G. does have plans on working with them on this album.

For his comeback album, B.G. will be working with Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Trey Songz, T.I., and Yo Gotti. Production will be coming from Scott Storch, KLC, Cool & Dre, Oddz n’ Ends, Justice League, and Salvage. Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood will be released on November 24, 2009 on Chopper City/E1 Music/Atlantic Records.
