The Game returns to Interscope Records

24 Sep

The Game (rapper)For four years, The Game was signed to Interscope Records. In 2005, he became one of the label’s biggest stars. A feud with label-mate, 50 Cent, saw The Game depart from the label for sister label, Geffen Records.

During his time at Geffen Records, The Game has risen to become the label’s biggest hip hop act. His two albums released on the label, Doctor’s Advocate and LAX, were both platinum successes.

The Game remains the most consistent hip hop act on Interscope-Geffen-A&M. Of those three labels, Interscope is the flagship label and it is struggling to sell records. Their most bankable star, 50 Cent, is no longer selling the records that he used to. His latest album, Before I Self Destruct, has been constantly pushed back for over a year.

Bringing The Game back to Interscope Records would bring a consistent artist with successful singles. Most importantly, The Game still sells records, he is a consistent gold-to-platinum rapper. His album, The R.E.D. Album, is possibly the most anticipated album from Game in his career.

Currently, The Game’s album, The R.E.D. Album, is set for a December 2009 release.
