Is Yung Joc still on Bad Boy?

Yung JocIn 2004, Diddy, then known as P. Diddy expanded his Bad Boy Records into a southern division, called Bad Boy South. One year later, in 2005, Bad Boy South entered a partnership with Atlanta-based Block Entertainment.

Every artist signed to Block Entertainment was automatically signed to Bad Boy South. In 2005, Yung Joc was signed to the label. In 2006, he released his debut album, New Joc City, he quickly became the face of Bad Boy Records and was in the good graces of the quick-tempered Diddy.

By the time he was ready to release his next album, in 2007, Yung Joc was the label’s biggest star, period. Joc was a star and he was making money. He began investing in other ventures as he created his own label, Swagg Team and got a deal with an outside label. Joc would end up signing Hotstylz, they provided the summer 2008 comedic smash “Lookin’ Boy.”

Yung Joc’s Swagg Team was also behind the GS Boyz and the “Stanky Legg.” For some reason, the relationship between Diddy and Yung Joc must have soured. Diddy is a sound businessman and he likes to make his artists’ business a division of his business, Yung Joc did not abide by these rules.

Earlier this year, when mentioning his 2009 album, he stated that he wanted to release it on his Swagg Team Entertainment through Jive Records. He later mentioned that he wanted to be off of Bad Boy Records, entirely, and that he had indeed left the label. However, on the Bad Boy website, Yung Joc is still listed as an artist. Also, his next album, Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood, will be released through Bad Boy/Atlantic. Is Yung Joc going through the same thing as The L.O.X. did?

Is Yung Joc still on Bad Boy Records, or is he off?
