Will Lil Wayne top Jay-Z?

21 Sep

Lil WayneThe next time you mention Pac, Biggie, and Jay-Z don’t forget Weezy baby! That was the line from Lil Wayne’s “Mr. Carter,” a memorable collaboration with Jay-Z. For years before, Lil Wayne had been an emcee on the rise. The success of Tha Carter III solidified that.

It is needless to mention the rise of Lil Wayne. By now, who does not know the story? Wayne’s rise has been told one million times over. It is obvious, now, that Lil Wayne is the biggest artist in the hip hop world. Ten years ago, that title belonged to Jay-Z.

Like Lil Wayne’s rise to supremacy, Jay-Z’s legacy has been told too many times to count. Everyone knows what he did and what he is still doing. The question is, can the fast-rising Lil Wayne and his legacy ever top that of Jay-Z?

Some are already calling Lil Wayne the Jay-Z of this generation.
