On the Rise: Reek da Villain

20 Sep

Reek da VillianReek da Villain has been working hard to make a name for himself. Ever since 2007, he has become a fixture on the New York mixtape scene and he is prepared to release his first studio album at any time now.

He is one of the most skilled underground rappers in the five boroughs and his work has not gone unnoticed. At one point, he was close to being signed by Busta Rhymes to Flipmode/Aftermath, but a problem with money stopped this deal from happening.

Instead, Reek records for his own Cash Out Entertainment. The pay may not be as good, but at least he keeps his profits. He has released all of his mixtapes through Cash Out and the label is currently searching for a distribution deal with a major label to finally get Reek’s voice out to the world.

Reek da Villain is one of the most talented rappers coming up. He represents this new generation of rap within New York City. The brand of New York hip hop has been falling off for years, being held together by releases from Jay-Z.

It may be Reek to hold it down in between Blueprints.
