“The Blueprint 3” has been Pushed Up

7 Sep

The Blueprint 3Jay-Z had initially decided to honor his first Blueprint album by releasing his latest Blueprint album on the eight year anniversary of the previous album.

His former label, Def Jam, has other plans, obviously. They are planning to re-release Jay-Z’s 2001 album, The Blueprint, on September 11, 2009.

Traditionally, albums are released on Tuesdays, anyway. To be different and honor his previous work at the same time, Jay-Z decided to release his eleventh studio album on September 11. Well, so much for honoring The Blueprint.

Jay-Z has reached the decision to beat his former label, Def Jam, to the punch by releasing his album on the traditional Tuesday, as opposed to the eighth year anniversary plans. The album will come three days earlier than expected and a chance to sell more records than expected in its first week.

The Blueprint 3 will now be released on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 on Roc Nation/Atlantic Records.
