Game talks more trash to Tila Tequila

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Two weeks ago, Game made headlines all over the place. There was a story on BET.com that told of him dating Ashanti. The following day, Knoc-Turn’ Al said that 50 Cent deserves credit for all of his success. To top it all off, MTV star, Tila Tequila, revealed that she was pregnant and Game was the father. One-by-one, Game responded to all of these rumors and Tila Tequila accused Game of punking out.

Ever since the Tila Tequila response, Game has zoned back out. Right now, he has a full plate as he is completing his album. Not only is he working on his album, but he is also sharing studio time with Dr. Dre, Ashanti, and Ja Rule. It is stressful enough being put in a position to create music with three different people. Aside from his work with other artists, he also challenged his former associate, Knoc-Turn’ Al to a feud after his statements.

With everything going on, Game probably forgot about the allegations from Tila Tequila. At first, he said that he did not know her, period. She denied that and there is proof that he knew the reality star. The depth of their relationship is unknown, but he had met her before. Tila is claiming that he knew her well enough to knock her up. In response to her statements, Game said that she knows good and well who the father is.

Game said that Tila Tequila knows that he is not the father of his child and she is only trying to pin the baby on him.

Fat Joe to make Biggest Possible Move in Hip Hop

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Fat Joe hit rock bottom following the release of his last album. The reason that Fat Joe fell off so quickly is because he is too nice, to hear him tell the story. Longtime critics of Fat Joe were already circling him for scraps. There were some ready to write him off and others that had when the first week numbers of the album were released. In response to all of this criticism, Fat Joe revealed that he was working on the best album ever.

Months after he announced that he was finally going to create a classic album. Over the course of his career, Fat Joe is known for having powerful singles. While the singles are usually powerful, his albums fail to match up. His latest album was a solid release, but he was unable to score that one hit to power him. For the past few years, Fat Joe has developed the “nice guy” persona and he has become a joke as a result of it. This is why Joey Crack devised a plan to change things up.

To kick off the 2010, the first year of the new decade, Fat Joe announced the title of his album, which was The Dark Side. He stated that this album would be his official “no more Mr. Nice Guy stance.” There has been plenty of talk about the new Fat Joe album, from Fat Joe, himself, but he had yet to release anything from the album. As soon as demand increased for his new music, Fat Joe released the first single from the album.

Currently, his lead single, “Slow Down (HaHa)” featuring Young Jeezy, is becoming a hit. A day after the release of that single, Fat Joe announced that he planned to release the next single from the album. His next single was to feature Trey Songz, but it was still a tale about the dark side. Fat Joe also said that he will be following up his Songz-assisted track with a collaboration with R. Kelly. He said that both singles will be hustler anthems.

Fat Joe is confident that this album will be one of those that end up going down in history as one of the best, transcending all musical genres. In what will be his tenth studio album, The Dark Side will be released on June 1, 2010 on Terror Squad and Capitol Records.

Gucci Mane denies doing Cocaine

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Back when all of the rappers were revealed for going back to prison, Gucci Mane was added to the list for violating his probation. He had been imprisoned for drug use, back in 2005, and he was being sent back to prison for drug use. The rumored drug of choice was cocaine. Now, with more and more rumors piling on, Gucci Mane has come to set the record straight.

When he spoke about doing drugs, Gucci Mane said that he had never done cocaine. He did reveal that he did violate his probation through drug use. But, Gucci remained adamant about never doing cocaine. While he denied doing cocaine, Gucci Mane admitted to smoking marijuana. That is an addiction that he even raps about having.

Regardless of the drug, Gucci Mane did have to return to prison. Despite his recent troubles with the law, Gucci Mane has had no trouble with his music. He went from being an artist that struggled for airplay to having more spins on the radio than the likes of Jay-Z. Gucci Mane will always be able to boast about his come-from-behind story.

The Atlanta rapper is said to be already in the studio working on the follow-up to his chart topping The State vs. Radric Davis album.

Jim Jones is willing to put Beef Aside to Reunite Dipset

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Just a short three years ago, the Dipset clan was tight. They were still celebrating their part in the demise of Roc-A-Fella Records. At the time, they were looking poised to take over the game. As their plans of taking over became prevalent, there was one thing missing, their leader. Before the end of 2007, it was revealed that Cam’ron was feuding with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. Since that time, each member has said horrible things about each other.

When Jim Jones and Juelz Santana sided with 50 Cent in his feud with Cam’ron, Cam decided that it would be best for him to take some time off. For the remainder of 2007 and well into 2008, Cam’ron was out of the public eye. Because he had become such a dominant figure in the hip hop world, a full search was made for Cam’ron. At the time, BET was still broadcasting their hip hop series, “Rap City,” and they hosted their show in Harlem for a week in search of the leader of Dipset.

Late in 2008, Cam’ron re-emerged in the game. Upon his return, there were a lot of questions about him and his crew. The questions about his crew led to questions about his old feuds with heavy-hitters 50 Cent and Jay-Z from years prior. In 2009, he began promoting his fifth studio album, Crime Pays. While he was doing the promo tour for this album, Cam said that he was all about making money. He said that if the money was right, he would be willing to work with his most-known rivals and willing to reunite with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana.

More and more questions arose until Cam’ron revealed that he had not spoken with Jones since he began feuding with 50 Cent back in February 2007. Days after he released that statement, he revealed that he spoke with Jim Jones and they had a long, friendly, conversation. This would later be denied by Jones, but Cam’ron pressured him into admitting that it was the truth. For Cam, that was the last straw. From that point on, he began dissing his former crew in interviews.

Late last year, Juelz Santana reached out to Cam’ron only to be shut down by his former friend. There were may people trying to instigate a response from Juelz, but he refused to do so. Despite his current feelings about Cam, it was Cam that gave him his start in the game. Jim Jones, on the other hand, took direct aim at Cam’ron. His statements about the former Dipset boss went without a response from Cam’ron.

After all of the bickering, Kareem Burke, a friend of the crew, said that he could possibly get the crew to reunite. Now, only a month after his statements, Jim Jones said that he is also confident that they will reunite. Still, all of this is depending on Cam’ron, who is tremendously disgusted with the way that Jones has treated him.

Game may still return to Aftermath Entertainment

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Eight years ago, Dr. Dre began recruiting West Coast talent for his Aftermath Entertainment. His decision came after Snoop Dogg criticized him for not signing West Coast acts to his label. After experimenting with the likes of Xzibit and Knoc-Turn’ Al, Dr. Dre took a risk and signed Game. The original plan was for Game to begin recording his album, Aftermath Presents… Nigga wit an Attitude, Volume 1, which was to be released in 2003. But, the signing of 50 Cent put all of this on hold.

Once 50 Cent broke through, he brought his crew with them. Because they were featured on songs with 50 Cent, they also became popular. Soon, a label was created to house 50 Cent and his acts. Despite being on a separate label, their production needs were still handled by Dr. Dre and his Aftermath producers. The emergence of 50 Cent saw Game pushed further back until the executives at Interscope Records sat down with Dr. Dre and they decided to have Game join forces with G-Unit.

Even though Game was now a member of G-Unit, 50 Cent had loyalties to his people, so their albums came before Game’s release. It was not until 2005 that Game finally released his album. In the end, Ruthless Records filed an injunction against Aftermath Entertainment that prohibited Game from using N.W.A. as a part of his album title. Game ended up naming his album The Documentary. Despite his debut album being a critical and commercial success, Game would soon have a falling out with 50 Cent that led to him leaving both G-Unit and Aftermath.

Immediately after he left G-Unit/Aftermath, Game signed with Geffen Records. With Geffen, he would release two platinum albums. He was able to establish himself as a successful rapper in his own right, without the help of Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. It soon became clear that he had a common dislike for 50 Cent. While Game may have hated 50 Cent, it was obvious that he wanted to reunite with Dr. Dre more than anything. His two post-Aftermath albums detailed this.

Because most of his rhymes included a plea to Dr. Dre for forgiveness, a lot of fans were beginning to be turned off. In 2009, he announced that his next album, The R.E.D. Album, would have no mention of Dre. Game promoted the album throughout the summer and he had set the album for a late 2009 release. When the fall season came in, Game began releasing singles from his upcoming album. In the middle of his work on the album, he received an unexpected call from Dr. Dre that asked him to come to the studio.

Even before Dr. Dre had offered to reunite with Game, the Compton rapper had already returned to Interscope Records. Right after Game and Dr. Dre reunited, he announced that he was back on the roster of Aftermath Entertainment. But, as the production work for his album kicked into high gear, Dr. Dre turned the project over to Pharrell. When he began working with Pharrell, he tattooed the logo of P’s Star Trak label to his head and announced that he was on the label. This was not confirmed or denied by Pharrell.

After missing out on five years with Game, Dr. Dre forced him to push The R.E.D. Album back so that he could work on it. Excited to be back in the Aftermath house, Game agreed to allow his album to be pushed back. For the past two months, Game has been working with both Dr. Dre and Pharrell on his new album. While he stated that he will always be Aftermath, Game frequently mentioned that he was now an artist on Star Trak Entertainment.

Recently, Game spoke on his upcoming album and he hinted at it being released on Dr. Dre’s label, Aftermath. He said that it is only right for his career to come full circle right before the release of his fourth studio album. The only thing that can be confirmed is the release date of the album, March 23, and the distributing label for the project, Interscope Records.

Ja Rule set to release First Singles from New Album

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

In what has been now a six-year hiatus, Ja Rule still has plans of making a comeback. He was supposed to have released The Mirror in 2007 and re-take the game. But, for unknown reasons, the album was never released. The following year, he had another album planned, but it suffered from the same fate as The Mirror. Last summer, he announced plans to take his fans back with a triple disc album.

Over time, Ja Rule has decided against a triple disc album. He promised that he would return with a new album in 2010, but an upcoming court case will prevent him from releasing a triple disc album. Instead, Ja Rule plans to release two albums before the end of this year. Unlike with past albums, Rule will release this album off of his own label, Mpire. The label has an exclusive distribution deal with Murder Inc., so it is as if he never left.

There has been a lot of talk of new music from Ja Rule for some time. He had recorded two albums worth of material, only for it to be leaked to the internet. This time, Ja will be making sure that the people working with him do not leak his music. For the first time in his career, Ja Rule wants to be in control of his own destiny. That means that he would like to release his music on his own terms.

With summer right around the corner, Ja Rule wants to release his first two singles to help heat things up. He plans to release his next album, Venni Vetti Vecci 2010, on June 1, 2010 on his own Mpire label and Murder Inc., which is said to have a deal in place with Atlantic Records.

Will “Rebirth” be a flop?

Posted by tvtbt on February 9, 2010

Lil Wayne is one of the most popular rappers in the game, but this was not always the case. Before Lil Wayne went on his hot streak, 50 Cent was on top of the game. Now, 50 Cent struggles to sell 500,000 copies on his latest album. Despite Lil Wayne being on top of the game, since the release of Tha Carter III, he has struggled to duplicate those numbers. He has released two albums since that time and each one has struggled.

The follow-up to Wayne’s triple platinum release was last year’s We Are Young Money. Due to the fact that he was working with new artists on the album, there was not much interest in it. But, still it was the follow-up to Tha Carter III. Two months since the album’s release and it has yet to even cross the 300,000 mark. His previous release sold 1 million album copies right off of the bat. Understandably, this is not the album he wanted to release, but it was his album.

Rebirth was the album that Lil Wayne wanted to release after Tha Carter III. Instead, it comes after an album that he created to promote his crew. When he first announced the album one year and a half ago, Lil Wayne knew that he was taking a risk. For the album, Wayne was moving away from his traditional rap music into creating rock music.

After many push-backs, Lil Wayne decided to create an experimental album that would feature elements of every musical genre. Because most of Lil Wayne’s fans are hardcore hip hop fans, there was a chance that he would turn a lot of listeners off. This was a risk that Wayne was willing to take and a risk that Universal Motown has done their best to avoid. But, the inevitable can only be delayed never avoided.

Since Rebirth is following-up a weak album, the music of the album will have to speak for itself. There are not too many fans that will purchase this album because of We Are Young Money. The first week sales of the album are modest, at best, at 150,000 copies. Lil Wayne has already followed up his masterpiece with a flop. Will his second album since Tha Carter III be another flop under Lil Wayne’s belt?

50 Cent is taking G-Unit indie?

Posted by tvtbt on February 7, 2010

Ever since he was discovered by Eminem, 50 Cent and G-Unit have been a part of Interscope Records. During his time with the label, 50 Cent has brought record numbers to the label. Not only was he able to do so with his own releases, but also with the releases of artists that he signed to his own label, G-Unit Records. The early days of G-Unit/Interscope brought a lot of hits, but the recent years have not. This has led to a dispute between 50 Cent and Jimmy Iovine.

After Interscope Records mishandled 50 Cent’s 2007 album, Curtis, 50 Cent made it clear that he was going to leave the label after the release of his fourth album. Most likely trying to derail him, Interscope also mishandled his next album, Before I Self Destruct. While this album ended up being the lowest-selling album in 50 Cent’s career, it was met with mildly positive reviews. On top of that, the album was his final release with Interscope Records.

Not only is 50 Cent done with Interscope Records, but most of the artists signed to his G-Unit imprint are off of Interscope. For years, 50 Cent teased many independent artists, but they are not forced to a label the way that it turned out that 50 was. He may have been teasing them not so long ago, but when it comes to finding another label deal, independent may not be such a bad idea. Also able to leave Interscope is Eminem and it is said that he may move to an indie label.

The most notable artist to move their entire label from a major label distribution to distribution with an independent label was Memphis Bleek. Maybe 50 Cent will wait to see how well Bleek’s gamble turns out to see if he needs to do the same thing. However, after being bullied around by the label that once called him king, 50 Cent may have plans of moving to an independent label to distribute his beloved G-Unit Records.

Foxy Brown is willing to End Feud with Lil’ Kim

Posted by tvtbt on February 7, 2010

There was a short period of time when Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim were collaborators. For years, they appeared on songs by some of the same rappers. The two femcees came out around the same time with the same style. Their debut albums were released within a week of each other and both artists were known for their work with Jay-Z and Nas. It has been almost a decade and a half of feuding, but Foxy Brown wants to end things.

In the past, it has been said that the two were best friends. Early in her career, Lil’ Kim had plans of taking Foxy Brown under her wing, but when they met, Foxy was not interested in being mentored. Some say that this is what led to their feud. But, on Foxy Brown’s debut album; she leaves a shout out to Lil’ Kim. There is a song by Foxy called “Memory Lane,” where she hints at their feud initially being staged until Kim took things too far.

The actual origin of the feud has been speculated for some time. Like many other issues, no one will probably ever know the truth. Whatever the origin may be, it was clear that by 1999, the two rappers were feuding. By the New Millennium, it was clear that nothing was staged in their feud. It was clear to see that they just did not like each other. In the year of 2000, their feud reached a new height and the following year; Foxy Brown issued a peace offering to Lil’ Kim.

Despite offering a truce, Foxy Brown continued the feud with Lil’ Kim. In 2005, it had been four years of direct feuding and Lil’ Kim hit at her hard with the track, “Quiet.” The feud did not end, but after that point, things died down, drastically. Lil’ Kim’s career has suffered since 2005 and the recent albums from Foxy Brown have been flops. Now, five years since 2005, Foxy Brown leaked a record that went at both Lil’ Kim and Jay-Z.

The song confirmed years of rumors of her sleeping with Jay-Z. She apologized to both Jay and Kim. She stated that the song was not supposed to have come out. Brown said that she was willing to do what she had to do to bring about an end to their feud. With the feud now going on for nine years, publicly, and fourteen years behind the scenes, she is willing to end her long-running feud with Lil’ Kim.

50 Cent is upset with Eminem

Posted by tvtbt on February 7, 2010

For years, 50 Cent has always felt that everyone that worked with him should not work with any of his rivals. In that same token, 50 Cent felt that anyone who worked with his rivals were against him. When he took his feud with Ja Rule public, there were many other rappers that joined him in taking him out. In the eyes of many fans and to 50 Cent, himself, it appeared as if no one would ever work with Rule again. But, the next year he worked with Fat Joe and Jadakiss.

The union of Ja Rule with Fat Joe and Jadakiss led to 50 Cent dissing all of them. At the time, 50 was the biggest rapper in the game. He felt that whatever he said or did that the rest of the hip hop community was supposed to fall in line. Even when he ended up having trouble against a very upset Fat Joe and Jadakiss, 50 Cent stood by his decision. Following his feuds with them, he began feuding with his own label-mate, Game. He said that he would go after Dr. Dre if he continued to work with him.

One thing that everyone understands is that no one will be on top forever. 50 Cent is just beginning to realize this. For the first time in his career, he struggles to release hit singles. While he is still one of the top rappers in the game, this is clearly the era of Lil Wayne. Dating back to 2007, 50 Cent has disliked Lil Wayne. For starters, he had an issue with Young Buck that stemmed over to him and he ended up collaborating with Ja Rule. During the summer of 2007, a feud broke out between the two rappers.

Despite the ongoing feud with 50 Cent, Lil Wayne reached out more than once to Eminem about possibly recording with him on Tha Carter III. Because he was keeping a low profile, at the time, Eminem never got back with Wayne. However, last year, Eminem came out of hiding and he began working with Drake. Drake just happens to be one of the many artists signed to the label, Young Money, which is run by Lil Wayne. Ever since the summer of 2009, Eminem has been working with Lil Wayne.

The first collaboration between Eminem and Lil Wayne was “Forever.” The song ended up becoming a hit and Em and Wayne have performed the song together on stage many times. There was even an occasion where Eminem and 50 Cent performed “Crack a Bottle” and 50 left the stage to be replaced by Lil Wayne to perform “Forever.” It has become more common to see Eminem with Lil Wayne than it is to see him with 50 Cent. For years, 50 Cent was the only person that Em associated himself with.

50 Cent is the type of person to easily get upset over something like Eminem hanging out with Lil Wayne. It is said that he is highly upset with Eminem for an apparent betrayal. Because of everything that he has done for his career, 50 Cent will not be coming out with a record to diss his one-time ally, Eminem. But, behind the scenes it is said that he and Eminem barely talk. The two rappers are engaged in a behind the scenes feud and they may both be leaving their label, so the chances of them working together again are slim.
